Misjumping was a dev tool in the original Elite game?
I doubt that original Elite supported expansions at all. So I believe that the misjump oxp aas intended to be a tool for OXP developers. Whatever is it's current status.

Not an OXP. There
are OXP's which enhance misjumps (
cim's is brilliant, but there are also a range of others - see
Misjump on the wiki).
Misjumps usually happen as a result of poor maintenance (along with fuel leaks), leaving one stranded in a ghastly glowing green space shrouded in fog and mist between the systems. I always presumed it was "witchspace" but that's not the way it works in game (see various OXPs such as Alnivel's rejigged Tionisla Chronicle Array, Cody's
Coyote's Run & HIMSN).
You can
force a misjump.
By the way, Cody is an
adept practitioner of the misjump - and Switeck probably deserves a
university chair in the theory!
