You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.

Looks like you've been promoted on the SSC forum, PAG... well done, sir!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Ahum Promotion was not my aim .
BTW: Opened a screenshots section there also. So if you got good shots to promote the game please post a few there also.

Well, I think the Oolite section at the SSC is doing a good job, it certainly made me get around to registering (finally ) on this forum and Cody is a fine Oolite Naval Attaché

@Geraldine: Thnx. But it gets not visited very often in comparison with Pioneer by *complete* strangers to the game.

Re: A Sub forum @ Spacesimcentral.com?
Ok, what I will do is include it in my "other posts" on various forums, perhaps that will help a little? But if I may make a suggestion, it might be helpful to showcase some of the up and coming cool OXPs you and others have in development. There are so many of them, it can be difficult for someone new to the game to pick from them all. I know you and others have already done some of this on the SSC, but keep it up!pagroove wrote:@Geraldine: Thnx. Also, have you guys considered putting Oolite on ModDB? That helped Pioneer get noticed by quite a few people.
Edit: Here are the forums I have posted Oolite info on and just updated. Hope you like em!
PC Gamer: http://www.pcgamer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12778
Frontier Forum! http://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread ... #post22135
Amibay (but you will need to be registered on there to see it I think, but a great Amiga site it is!) http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?p= ... post313421
Edit: And another! Bioware (yes I know, not the sort of place you would expect to find space sim fans, but there is a heck of a lot of retro gamers on there, so its for them really ) http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic ... 5#12181534
Edit MkII: And yet another, Sub Sim: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=196120

I know I posted this before, but it didn't get much attention. I created an oolite subreddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/oolite. Maybe you guys could check it out?

It might just be that not many of us do reddit. We tried a farcebook 'like' button here on the BB a while ago, and that didn't last longCommander Xvyto wrote:I know I posted this before, but it didn't get much attention. Maybe we're just a bunch of anti-social misery-gutses who don't do these things.

Ok. I was kinda wondering if that would be the case. On the internet it seems that you will find a large group that does reddit/4chan/whatever, and then another group that doesn't.

Don't let this put you off though. The best way to try out an idea is to, well, try it out! And anything that helps the comOonity, or just brings Oolite to people's attention is a good thing in my book.

Reddit is mostly a social news site (users can share links), but one can also create a subreddit. This is like creating a new forum on the reddit site.

I moderate 2 forums, admin 2 others, as well as hang out here.. doesn't leave much time for Reddit, Facebook, Twitter and what-have-you..
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
