Lots of good ideas there - food for thought, I like both the Draven and your ship Selezen (and having played Oolite this afternoon and been whipped to buggery by something called a 'Super Frigate' maybe that would do too...)

I like Killerwolf's suggestions on the Vampire - Garew gave the Spectre to Rebecca, so he knows its strengths and weaknesses too. Coyote knows which side his bread is buttered in a fight, and ol' Derik, well, he'll just charge in regardless. As for Shulth, who's to say which way the sharp end of his ship will be pointing...

Cheers,

Drew.

Drew,
Just to be clear the ship is the Draven Gunship. Draven is a range of ships, there is a smaller shuttle, a similar sized ship to the gunship with less guns and more cargo space, a trader which is a fair bit bigger and finally a carrier which is just small enough to allow docking at normal stations and behemoths.
If you need I can provide images of all of them. current back story says they are produced by Oodollduff Inc. on Veisin in Galaxy 6.

I dunno, giving out spoilers before you've even written the bugger.....

Rebecca already has the Spectre, it's not a spoiler.

And the Spectre doesn't need a spoiler either, it looks just fine as it is.

That's not the spoiler, but the inference of who will be piloting the enemy ship for the showdown is a spoiler surely (if not exactly a huge surprise).
Anyway never mind - it doesn't really matter.

Sorry, Drew. You don't know the Lizard as well as you think.

He's no fan of close-quarters space combat, and prefers to engage at standoff ranges.
He won't back down, that much is certain. He'll charge only when enraged, otherwise he'll let the assailant come to him, taking time to line up precision shots. And always looking for weaknesses to exploit in his enemy's tactics.

As for a ship that stands a chance of going against our heroes, a Dragon M might do. It's a tough little beast without being insanely uber.
Unfortunately, Derik used to fly one and is very familiar with it's capabilities :) and it's flaws. Back of the hand familiar.
