I uploaded a new version, fixed per Svengali's suggestions, which resulted in 10 mb smaller file. :D
To get the improved version, follow the link in my PM you've already got, select File (top left) and Download original from the list that appears.

Beta 3 uploaded as a reaction to Ironfist's observations.
Same download-link is still valid.

Sorry for not replying sooner to your request. As soon as Xeptatl's Sword (https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=10300) is released, which will be soon, I will give this a go.

mandoman,

Downloaded and ran your latest OXP.
Found this in the latest.log
23:26:49.546 [shipData.merge.failed]: ***** ERROR: one or more shipdata.plist entries have like_ship references that cannot be resolved: SunBat-Escort
This is because you have listed the escort for the Starmoth with a like SunBat but there is no SunBat definition in shipdata, plist. I know there is a seperate SUnBat OXP, if your OXP needs this it would be a good idea to package it along side the other one in the top level zip and provide a readme, txt telling people to add this as well. I will find SunBat,OXP and include it then maybe we will see some escorts.
I will keep you informed of progress.

Hi there!

Me and the boys just came back from wiping out a slavers' depot out in the asteroid field, and though their base was suitable for our physical needs it's in a rather poor strategic location. The plan was to destroy it, but I thought: maybe you guys could have an use for it?

It has a large camouflaged docking bay, all those big slave pens that can be easily converted into hangars and workshops and due to the mission's nature, it's nearly intact... On the down side, it'll take more than a coat of paint to remove the stench and stains of the place (we'll naturally lend a hand on the cleaning job).
But I'm fully confident that if there's anything that could redeem that asteroid's karma, it'd be having a team of vibrantly creative and bald  hot-shot pilots and master engineers striving to create and improve!

Anyhow, are you going to officialize your Honourable Guild, use custom ranks and have a social club? And never mind me, I'm not saying I'll join it, it's just an suggestion...

Frustrated hyperdrive builder seeks play-testers and script critics.

Sensible GalDrive - this OXP removes the traditional 5,000cr, one-shot, "Galactic Hyperdrive" from the game, and re-implements it as a 40,000cr, permanently-installed "Long-Range Hyperdrive". This changes Oolite's gameplay somewhat - it will be deemed an obvious improvement by some players and heresy by others.

Please PM me if you're able to assist.

"Somewhat" - now there's an understatement! :) The most obvious one is that there are effectively no more "island" systems - you can GalHDrive in and as tech level doesn't matter any more - you can then GalHDrive back out on to the next Galactic Chart.

But that's alright, it's your game not mine and I don't have to download it. I'm sure lots of the other players will just love this addition to the game (and probably an equal amount will hate it and some will just go "meh")

I welcome the innovation. That is within the spirit of Oolite. You did mention elsewhere that this version would use fuel. If so, have you found a solution for the Nova-mission conundrum. It would break that mission unless additional OXP's were installed.

Also, I don't think this would fit within my game, but as I said, I welcome the innovation.

In 75% of the nova systems it is possible to scoop fuel before docking at the station. In the other 25% or without heat shielding, you are right and you will be doomed if a GH needs fuel

I was thinking of novating the arrival system as a way of punishing people who jump with insufficient fuel. Now you're telling me they'd still be able to scoop fuel and escape? Bah! I guess I'll have to resort to the horrible "mass-locked by invisible ship" hack to stop 'em.
