Oolite is pretty international, a lot of Russians seem to play Oolite too, since it was reviewed in the russian Linux mainsite but they do not post (as far as I can tell)

My son, Joshua, is 12. He does indeed like Oolite, and has chosen a life of crime. I consider this his personal form of rebellion against the Old Man, whose legal status is still "Clean."

Oolite just passed 10,000 downloads on berlios.de!

Berlios.de is just a small part of the picture. A significant number of downloads are made from ftp.alioth.net, and the berlios + ftp.alioth.net stats are _just_ for Linux, an incredibly minority desktop OS. Add in Macintosh downloads, and you probably have at a rough guess 40,000+ downloads, possibly more.

Once we get a stable Windows build, then we'll also have the "unwashed masses" [0] downloading too, which will probably add a few more tens of thousands to our number.

Someone should implement soap as a clause in the ports Makefile and maybe it will get ported over to gentoo as well... :-)

I'll second that, being easily modable (for those who know how) is a major part of the success and collaborative development like this is an irresistable force.

So thankyou Giles for your foresight, and thankyou to all the contributors, too many to mention, but regular BBS members know who they are, whether they be major or minor, all contributions are very much apreciated by non techys like me.

No, it's fairly accurate. Until I installed Ubuntu, I hadn't had a bath for three months. No time, you see, due to the need for endless configuration of software*.
