It is purely Oolite giving me trouble. I cheerfully edit images and work with small fonts (many people query why I have such small font sizes when working in docs and spreadsheets) and hence find the Oolite experience odd.

Unless, of course, it is me being unreasonable ... can anyone else see metal plates at > 1km or a Moray at > 10km?

alloys : best case when they are lit by sun : 1.2 km
typical distance i see them : .8

Moray : don't remebmer distance, but they are hard to target

It could very well be your monitor.

The best monitor I've found, for everything and especially oolite, isn't a monitor.
It's a high def flatscreen TV with a computer video input.
