It's generally a good advice for the Assassins missions to move in quickly and move out quickly. Remember: you're not paid to be a hero or to put up a big fight, and you're not paid to do sightseeing. Find you mark, hit your mark, and be done with it. :twisted:

I found hockey team without any problems, killed transport, but no progress and in savegame file is STAGE2a. I "landed" in the main station, refuel and jump to Orramaor, then back to Tiared and - hockey team is here again.

I tested all weapons - I-Missile, standard missiles, Q-mine and of course military laser. Ram be a suicide :mrgreen:

But what weapon did finally kill the team?

There are some special weapons from OXPs which cannot be used to kill mission relevant ships (like for instance all Assassins targets), because the kill isn't recognized when using them. This is true for all the weapons from Killit OXP, for the Railgun, and quite possibly for some of the more exotic missiles. Make sure that the last shot fired at your target is from your laser.

In one of my tests I killed him with laser. No missiles, no railgun (I like mining RG), only military laser without laser booster OXP.
Hmm, I'm flying Constrictor, is it OK ?

I should've asked this earlier: what does your latest.log say?

Please have another go at the hockey team, kill them, and afterwards post the latest.log from that game session here, included in -tags.

There's nothing clearly related to your problem in the log. Also, I've just done a test run myself, and for me the mission variable is correctly set to assassins_STAGE2b when I kill the hockey team. Do you get the death message when the ship dies?

Also, before checking mission_assassins in your save file after the kill, have you actually saved the game?

For now I'm seeing two possible reasons for your problem: either there's a bug with the implementation of death_actions under Linux, or one of your OXPs is interfering. You could confirm or exclude the latter by trying again with only Assassins OXP installed.

Or one of the boffins chimes in and takes a guess at which OXP could cause the non-recognizal of death_actions in Assassins OXP.

I got com message, when transport died. I deleted all assassins keys from savegame and run again from start. I rammed Vintage Ader and got death message. Then mission continued to Galactic News and kill report to Guild at Esrire. IMHO, linux's implementation of the death_actions is OK. I will try Assassins on clear instalation on Win.

V12, what version of Assassins have you got installed? There are a couple of unofficial bug fixed versions around.

Problem solved !!!
OXP Griff alloy and wreckage v1.4 is clashing with Assassins v1.3.3. I deleted this OXP and all works OK 8)

Anything which changes a ship's script would do that: support for legacy scripting code is handled by certain private function calls within the default ship script. Mixing both legacy scripting and JS ship scripts on the same ship is not supported - which is fine, because no-one does that. I assume the alloys and wreckage OXP assumes that it's safe to replace the ship script of ships which just have a default script attached.
