You could take the original OXP, create a new role for the old stations and have them only spawn in populations smaller than 4Bil, and/or feudal and anarchies - this way they wouldn't clash with the new YAH stations (you wouldn't need all the billboard stuff - that would/could still be generated by the new YAH)
EDIT: and spit out some of the old style station-code Sidewinders - since I think the new YAH uses (or was going use) Simon B's new designs.

My only issue (I like the ad) is that the RR logo is a huge (c) breach - RR cars protect it very vigorously! (To the point where when RR engines was sold off - nobody thought to include the RR logo and so it has to be leased from the car company by the engine company)
OK, here is version two:

Right, I've retextured it, and renamed all the textures, and amended the plist files to use the new textures.
Now, how do I tell it to spawn these things at smaller planets and feudals? And also, how do I ensure it won't conflict with the main YAH scripts?
I found the spawning script, but I only want it to add my bargin basement style constores in these lower profit places.
Plus:
How do I force one to spawn somewhere? I'd like to check I'd not made a huge mess of it all...

Added a collage of some of my favourite ads to the YAH! wiki page:

Because the exclamation mark isn't contained in his link. The correct link is
Code: Select all
http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Your_Ad_Here!
phpbb2 doesn't like "!" in a URL, it seems.

works fine for me. In full 1280 or window reduced to ~800 pix. wide.
I do not remember individual ones, but there were others I liked even more than most in your collection, some of which I have not yet seen.
I always wondered what is the backstory to Thargoids advertising ?
"Your whatwasit are belong to us" - That made me really laugh out loud.
some ads I just do not get them - probably I do not know the original they are a mockery of. But I overall like the variety most.
It took me a while to realise the ships on demo-display had changed, and I could see the ads in their full glory there. Watched them for a moment, then decided I rather have them one by one as surprise in the game.

Thanks for including my "Drink of the stars"
@DH: I PM'd you about the missing "Stop the war!" ad (6 months late
) but in case you missed it, you can find it here:

It's an oblique reference to this. Also paraphrased by my q-bomb Tharglet ("We boom all your bases poet").

I love "Mecha Bingo" and actually one of my own - "Oohay!" (because it was so damn obvious (and easy) to do once I saw it in my brain!)
And "blerg" furniture too...
