Have a go Thargoid....I must have pipped you by a split-second and your answer was more comprehensive than mine.
Also, I've done a few lately and am short on ideas.

OK, how is the NCC-1864 better known, and who was her first officer?

No good - try something that can't be (so easily) googled!

P.S.: Khan might not have been the best 3D strategist, but how come the Enterprise had to "surface" before opening fire instead of just aiming?
You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.

I'd remembered it was the Reliant, but I'd forgotten that Chekov was the officer in question...

The honour of this thread is doing it without Google ;)

I'm guessing that it's Paul's sister Alia

(No Googles were used in making this guess :P )

It's the swordmaster and his clones, I think he appears in all of the books... I just can't remember the name.

EDIT: Disenbodied remembered.

Thanks, guys... since you've complained of starting to get short on ideas, I''l put the next one:

What is the name of the aliens who more-or-less offhandedly prove Fermat's conjecture, call it a dumb problem - and then go surfing?

Correct - 'tis Duncan Idaho. He's the only character to appear in all of Frank Herbert's original 6 books. He also appears in some of the prequels/sequels written by the son and someone else...
