There are a couple of misnamed entries in the wakapiko oxp - they'll show up in the logs.
Works anyway. If you want to fix them by all means do - just two pngs to rename in shipdata.plist.

The neolite folder in box.net should be public ... so you should be able to edit it, and upload modified versions if you want.
I'll close that feature if it turns out to be a pain - but since I'm not maintaining the set I figured someone should have the option.
You want to add custom specular - you may. Bugfixes too. Just give the new file the old name and it should show up as v2.
Drop us a line before you do though ... people who want to have a play with them may like to use this thread to keep in touch?

In the recent biuld of Oolite, the normalmap of the Anaconda is rendered with the bumps reversed.
Here's a quick and dirty fix to the normal map:

Thanks for that - I encourage people to improve and even modify my OXPs.

It seems there is to be a change to the way the plists work or something which may break things.
My attitude is to let it break unless someone wants to work through the plists to make it work.
I'm just very busy.

I'll happily include fixes in the official oxp.

Other fixes i did:

shipdata.plist

line 382
from

Code: Select all

view_position_aft = "0.0 -6.0 18.0";
to

Code: Select all

view_position_aft = "0.0 -6.0 -66.0";
This fixes the Aft view position of the Anaconda, that was too much on the inside the leaving pieces of ship obstructing the view.

line 1755
from

Code: Select all

view_position_forward = "0.0 7.1 11.5";
to

Code: Select all

view_position_forward = "0.0 7.1 12.5";
Same as above, but with the forward view of the Cobra 3.

line 2305
remove

Code: Select all

unpiloted = yes;
I found this on the forum to fix the problem with escape pods always containing a "slave" instead of the pilot.

I'll be putting up a new version of gal navy facelift with this fix later. Could you please check the other normal maps too and see if there are other ones to be fixed? For some reason, if I look at any normal map for awhile, it always looks reversed :lol:.

I know... It happens to me too :D

For the Anaconda I used the same normalmap as the stations (Alienhull-norm.png), adding, in a very horrible way, the differences.

The Ghiaval (neolite compaion) looks reversed, but I can't do anything with it, because I don't have a "clean" version of his normal map to use.

The Asp MK1 (wolfies) IMHO, is a litte too much "bumpy", but before I can do anything for it, I think that I need to learn how to do a normal map from scratch. :)

I think that the other neolite ships are fine.

There is a gimp plugin that is easy to use, but to create a normal map properly, you'll need the original layered texture file. For example, if there is a the ship's name in the texture you might not want it to be in the normal map making it look raised or lowered.

Found it :)
Here's the normalmap for an asp mk1 with lower bumps.

I'll try to do a better version of my previous Anaconda normal map.

EDIT: And here it is. :)

Does anybody know which of the dozen-odd Neolite files contain the Orbital Stations retextures?

Bump!

I'd rather not download them all just to find out!
