Perhaps it's Zaphod Beeblebrox?

Zaphod Beeblebrox… it could almost be him… but it’s not.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Is it Lazarus Long, from Methuselah's Children by Robert Heinlein [sp]?

The Lazarus Long series is one I really want to read - I came across the series when I was looking up Starship Troopers. Once it comes out on Project Gutenberg, it will be MINE!

Is it common for Belgians to know dutch?
More than half the population of Belgium (roughly the northern part) is Flemish, or Dutch-speaking. Our accent is different, but our vocabulary is 99.999% identical (if we don't speak a local dialect, but the official language, that is.)

Flanders was part of The Netherlands, as recent as 1830.
I speak some German and I can read some Flemish/Dutch if I try to sound out the words.

Darn, I knew that one! (Well it was more an educated guess)

Oh yeah, my turn. Sorry.

I just realised that books fall into public domain 50 years after the author's death, not 50 years after publication! Darn.

Anyway. I don't have a lot of time to think this one up, so here's an easy one.

Who said this, what was the TV series and what was the episode name:

"It's considered bad manners to kill your friends while committing suicide"

Hmmm your name does seem familiar (Selezen/Servelan).

I believe that was Avon from "Blake's 7", didn't recall the episode name from memory.

Okay, name person 1:-

[Person 1]:(pistol to the Person 2's head) De-crucify the angel!
[Person 2]: What?
[Person 1]: De-crucify him or I'll melt your face!

Here, hang on, I though you could only post if the answer was verified correct?? AND you didn't answer all of the question, you cheeky moose!

(And it's Barbarella!! One of the all-time great quotes! Even better than "Jason X: Evil Gets An Upgrade!")

I scream "I'll melt your face" with monotonous regularity at annoying people... Yes. I am 36 years old.

Shit, sorry

I really should read all the pages in this post to learn these things... but I'm lazy

It is of course Barbarella... the god-awful Barbarella

Why do all the rubbish films have the best quotes?

No, sorry, that's not entirely accurate. Hong Kong films have the best quotes, but only from the subtitles... For example:

"Fatty, you with your thick face have hurt my instep."

"I am damn unsatisfied to be killed in this way."

"You always use violence. I should've ordered glutinous rice chicken."

:-)

Anyway. Can anyone name the episode?

Hmmm ... to be honest I can only name two Blake's 7 episodes: "Orac", and "Blake" (the finale). I'll guess "Blake".

OK, maybe it's the very first episode ... which without the aid of Google I'll guess was called something like "Liberator"?
