The only link I have is on the Wiki page for this OXP:
http://www.jblythe.f9.co.uk/oolite/
I followed the root directory but to no avail. No way to contact him. Someday he may drop by the board and read my PM.
He indeed has done some programming. A very talented fellow.

I host the OXP on my Box.com account, but also like you I don't have a contact address for Deepspace.

'Bit' of a shot in the dark, but maybe trying jblythe (at) f9 etc etc might do the trick...

Sadly, I have not been successful in contacting Deepspace for his approval. PM'd him on this board over a month ago and that also has not been read.

It's not the name of the box account on which the OXP is hosted.

Hmm, it is his name though, and the photo does look spookily similar to the banner on

The retro games (a few of my old favourites there!) he's worked on according to the Deepspace website would also match the stated interest in retro gaming on the blogger profile.
There's another potential email contact here...the website link given is dead though.
http://retrospec.sgn.net/games/chuckie/ ... ntact.html
Edit - I've emailed an invite to visit the boards to that email address.....and it's bounced back dead. Anyone with a Linkedin account (DaddyHoggy?) willing to try and make contact?

As I said earlier, I host the OXP on my box account, but I am not Deepspace!

I only have a free Linkedin account (no way I'm spending $25+ a month for an upgrade!) so I can't contact him directly, but have sent an "add me" type contact, with a message that if he's the John Blythe we're thinking of, for him to log in here or email me.
Fingers crossed.

Some time ago I updated Deepspace Ships using the original diffuse textures plus glow maps applied to slightly modified models. Perhaps this work may allow me to release it. I even made a version for Oolite 1.79+.

Now making shady DeepSpace Ships... diffuse, specular, normal and effects maps, using the fragment shader provided by Jens for Griff's Adder.
Here's shady DS Cobra Mk III:
Lovely, metallic shininess!
