<nods> This is further evidenced by the popularity of Solo's unshadered version of Griff's shipset, I think - over 900 downloads now.

This is probably a daft question but it's been a long day so I'm going to ask anyway
.....
I have just upgraded to premium beta and have attempted to download the software.
I start the download process and get asked if I want to open or save the client installer.
When I try to open it I get asked which program do I ant to use to open the client installer.
Any ideas ?

I don't have the game yet, so I'm guessing here - do you mean run the client installer?

I just double checked and the options are to open or save.....not run.

Still guessing - try save, then right-click and run as admin?

Ahh - try adding a .exe
suffix to the file (if it ain't got one - it was a problem reported yesterday, I think), then running it (as admin).

Now where have I heard that sort of talk before, eh? <chortles merrily>

I do have some old habits (mostly bad) - and I know some old tricks too.

Now here is a thing. There was a cash injection into the Alpha by Frontier so I decided to treat myself to a Lakon Type 9. Great views from that space whale. But I had a dilemma, although I had enough to buy the thing I couldn't really equip it very well, so I took a chance and filled it to the brim instead with low cost cargo. No weapons and no hope if I was attacked. However using that old "off the trade lane" trick I made it safely to port, sold the cargo and finally added all sorts of goodies to it. I admit though it was a bit of a nail biter doing that trade run. Then I lost the lot in the next reset!
Oh, well easy come, easy go.

<grins> Excellent! For the gamma/release version, which start option are you thinking of choosing?
