Yeah... it becomes tiresome reading some of it. I've had to add a couple of people to my ignore list.
I haven't put anyone on my ignore list yet, I usually just cursorily skim through some poeple's posts, or skip them. Sometimes I debate a bit, sometimes I give rep (usually positive or not at all), most of the time I just chuckle and move on.
Yesterday I gave one wiseguy accidentally positive rep with the comment "inflammatory, non-constructive"
(meant to give negative rep, but the click didn't register...
)

High Poobah!?!
I wouldn't go that far, forum
skutter might be closer.
You can't post on the forum you say?
I have done a quick search of your user name and drawn a blank. Did you register? If so, I will need to investigate this further. If you are registered, send me a PM over there if you can. Changing your forum name shouldn't be a problem, it just might take a little while to locate your account and find out why you cant post. It's possible your rot13 name may have triggered the forum's spam bot defences. If I don't hear from you over there, I will check back here, then we can look into it.

Mark Boss wrote:Hi everyone,
Today we are happy to announce the start of Premium Beta access, with Beta players able to download a single player combat build of the game.
The full Premium Beta will start on 30th of May 2014, and until then, players will be able to practise with a single player combat build.
The ability to upgrade to Premium Beta is now available for anyone who has already pre-ordered the standard Beta or the final game.
This option is now available on the store after signing in.
For Alpha players, there will be one more Alpha phase release before going to Beta which adds Travel and Trading.
Alpha phase 4 details below
Alpha phase 4 expands significantly on this with two modes of faster than light travel - in-system 'super-cruise' and between-system 'hyperspace'. The full Milky Way galactic map, containing some 400,000,000,000 star systems, will be present. Alpha 4 game play is focused on a 200 cubic light year volume of space, far from Earth.
The date and further details of Alpha Phase 4 will be announced shortly. Alpha contributors get early access to future builds and a lifetime benefit of discounted in-game ship insurance. Elite: Dangerous
Alpha access is available for order until 25th April. Find the Alpha here.
Some words from Frontier CEO, David Braben looking at the progress so far and the move to Beta :
“I want to take this opportunity to thank all those who have played such an important role in Alpha testing, and I’m very happy that we will continue to benefit from their valuable input as they test Beta builds approximately 2 weeks in advance of release.
On the 30th of May we move into a new phase of Premium Beta testing with an increasingly complete game, and I’m delighted to be able to welcome a significant numbers of new players to Elite: Dangerous today.”
Thanks everyone for your support,
Should you have any queries regarding Beta, feel free to leave them on this post and we’ll try our best to answer your questions as soon as possible.

I do try and limit myself to "tap dancing into a new forum, like the prat I am" to once a month. But for this one. I very well may make an exception.

Is the
Cobra Mk III a little... what's the word, overdone?

i dont think that bubble cockpit sits well on the ship, and some of the extra plating looks ill placed and jarrs with the 'wireframe' lines of the ship, this is common to a lot of the ED ships we've seen so far, though this may be deliberate - prehaps to hint at a snake or reptile skin pattern to the hull plates...
there's something about it (the E:D CobraIII) that makes me think of the car Homer designed in 'The Simpsons'

Yeah, that extra plating bothers me a little. As for the cockpit, it's a two seater with the commander on the left.

two seater? hope there's an option to put yours and the girlfriend's names in stick on lettering on the tinted sunstrip along the top of the windscreen, eg:
Griff................................. 20 TC Narcotics

Planetary rings are looking good. In other news, it would seem that griefing, albeit thinly disguised as Alpha testing, is already happening. <sighs>
