If only we could change the little green houses for Dodecs and the red hotels for Trade Stations - and have little ships made instead of the traditional car/ship/boot etc...

Hmmmm....

If you want a "traditional board game" set in space, try 4000 AD.

I was making lightly humorous comparisons nothing more.

Still thank you for the reference, :)

I fear the MNSR inclusion will happen when hell freezes over

... as this is the prototype of something oxp, some have even claimed this would be the first branching off of Oolite (I don't see it that way, but well)!

Concerning the "1.73" trunk version, I think Diziet Sma is creating installers for Windows systems regularly - you find them here:

https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.ph ... sc&start=0

... and with this version of Oolite you can try OSE Beta out.

Be warned, though, that the trunk version is not supposed to be used for playing and that OSE is an incomplete test version, parts of which might still break or which's final version might be incompatible with former versions or somesuch.

Also OSE really needs at least a 2+GHz dualcore and 3+GB RAM system to run properly!

Perhaps that could work for you?

Cheers

L

Unfortunately not... iirc it's only for WINDOZE machines - I run a mac... a machine with a stable OS 8)

Believe me - I do envy you :?

Well, then you'll either have to wait for Oolite 1.73 to be officially released or you learn to build the trunk on your stable system :P

While technically it's not a game screen shot I thought I would make a post here than start a new thread.

The work on the manual is continuing at a steady pace, 22000 words and counting. I'm getting close to producing the first complete draft so I thought I should get a idea on the best layout for you folks. To whit I present Disembodied Advice For New Commanders re-jigged in the my current layout format. (The image is a bit grainy as it's only 72dpi, the pdf is at least 3 times the quality.)
Image
It's design so there is maximum text space with a larger typeface (10 point) and a neater graphic positioning. Landscape makes use of the maximum amount of screen space. It can also be printed either single or double sided and has large left/right margins for easy binding.

Grab the zip file and have a look. It actually contains three versions: 225dpi for file size, 300dpi as standard and unlimited for high resolution. Give it a test drive and tell me what you think.

Oh, and on a side note... Why stop at MoOnopoly? Why not a Dvorak Oolite card game, I see your fuel leak and counter with a refuelling station. :)

Documentation of my engagement with a Ramazian police force Kirin XM with my own Kirin XM.

I'll have to say it took a long time to actually finish off the bugger. the slide show just compacts it....intensely. :P

There is no police Kirin.
If it shows on your radar with a purple blip, then it's a military Kirin on a logistics or troop carrying mission, and it may have a squad of military Vipers for an escort.
Secondly, the military Kirin isn't an XM. Your XM used to be a military Kirin, reconditioned and auctioned off to the civilian market.

Thirdly, you have laser mounts on it, so install some lasers. It's a deadly beast indeed with mil lasers on all four mounts and a full rack of hardhead missiles.
