Bravo Svengali - this thread popping up again has inspired me to move Snoopers G3 Newsflashes back to near the top of my creative to-do list (after the mundane - "mark student coursework")

Really goofy wording in descriptions.plist file, section SNOOPERS_0_G7_6 = "'Factor 45!':

'We advise travellers are advised to steer clear of the star or buy some really terrific sunblock cream and wrinkle remover.'

Perhaps it should be this instead?:
'We advise travelers to steer clear of the star or buy some really terrific sunblock cream and wrinkle remover.'

No doubt there's others that are equally awkward as well.

I'm getting Snoopers messages really often in Galaxy 3 while testing my mission briefs. (these mission briefs do not use Snoopers) About every 2nd or 3rd system I visit I get a Snoopers message. Strangely, if a location is given, it seems to be a location in Galaxy Chart 1!
I also have BlOomberg Markets v2.5.oxp installed which also causes Snoopers messages.
Is there some sort of conflict resetting the Snoopers timer?

I'd think you are right. Will fix it for the next round.

I'd guess a OXP has inserted a newsflash then.
If the pool is not empty there's a chance that the interval gets bypassed. This is explicitely done to clean the pool a bit faster. The weighting for pool or internal newsflash is random (70/30), except if Priority 1 is used. So it may happen that you are getting more than one internal newsflash in a (lot) shorter interval.

G3-G8 is not covered at all, no surprise that you are getting G1 newsflashes then. DaddyHoggy is working on G3 specific newsflashes though .-)

I am indeed (still) working on G3 flashes - unexpected (and unwanted) amount of family illness over the Christmas period scuppered any chance of me finishing them - but I'm nearly there!

v2.2.1 is online.

Changes:
- Fix descriptions.plist for SNOOPERS_0_G7_6 (thanks Switeck)
- Fix undefined station in case player gets launched while in docking process (thanks Commander McLane)

Please forgive me if I am obtuse but I am not getting any news. Is it because of my commanders location, upper right corner of Galaxy 1?

Then this morning out on a test flight with a Jameson, flying from Lave to Diso, I was informed of a news flash before docking. I have had Snoopers installed for about one week. Nothing in the log. I did alter the slider settings with OXPConfig just last night:
SliderA: 90%
SliderB: 4 days

The news flashes are relatively rare. There isn't something exciting happening every day, even in a whole Ooniverse.

Yep, that's how it works. You are informed about a news flash before docking. And then you just have to do what you were told after docking (namely press F7) in order to see the newsflash. (It's all explained in the Readme as well.)

Right you are Commander McLane. Just received my first news flash with my active duty commander. And a "Right On" to the Snoopers team!

While out on test operations I noticed these typo's.

Image
Sould be '1 point' not '1 points'
Image
Should be 'safe' not 'save'

Just minor things but this oxp is great. Thanks for making it. :D

Are those screens generated by another OXP that utilises Snoopers (such as UPS Courier)? I don't recall them from Snoopers OXP itself.

They are probably UPS. But instead of double second guessing and running the risk of double posting I thought I would put them here as they are snoopers related. I found other typo's while with my player ship, but I don't bug hunt when in my S9, I just immerse
