I'd like to advance the Spine as the name for the worlds along the path from 26 to 139.

I like "Lost worlds" it implies that at some point at least one of them was within 7ly but something has gone wrong (Star Trek like Supernova? - perhaps there was another system that has since been destroyed?)

In gal chart 3 and already mentioned by me on the Navy Sectors thread - I name the systems around system #36 - "The Sidewinder"

I can see why, although personally I'm not so keen on just "The Sidewinder".

It needs a little more, "The Sidewinder <something>", maybe Cluster or Sphere or Expanse or a similar collective group name.

I can see your point - The Sidewinder Cluster has a nice ring to it...

For those two lonesome planets #133, Ditere and #206, Atlaar, (top left, under the 'OO' in OOLITE) I'd like to propose the name, 'The Wanderers' or, alternatively, 'The Lost Worlds'.
One corp poor industrial, one mainly industrial feudal. Not a great combination.

The Lost souls?
Average lost twin stars?
Twins of none?
Brothers of unhappiness?
The failed marriage?
Outsider worlds

Since you'd have to G-jump in, and G-Jump out, I imagine spacers referring to the run as something like... "Jumping Through the Hoop"

Well that will depend on what kind of worlds they are and if that route is indeed the backbone of the map. Whilst I applaud peoples enthusiasm, it may take a week to correctly apply all the world information. So keep some creative juice in reserve. :D

What about 'The Solitary Sisters'? Often shorted to just 'The Sisters'.

"Twin Hermits"?

Food for thought. With the thargon wars wouldn't these 2 worlds be extremely vulnerable to assault?

Any force witching into defend them would have to cycle through 8 worlds to get back to base again.

Maybe "the lost cause" would be all the more accurate.

"Sisters of futility."
as a always all options will be mulled over. :)

Did you ever accidentally take a trip to ireland and once there kiss a rock? EG Blarney stone (it's a compliment) :)

If it's not used here we have plenty of other cut off systems coming up!

This would be a good point to bring up an issue for discussion. Routes.

The routes for map 1 were set down by Mr P who put together the oxp for them. The maps followed.

Map 2 took the lead (mainly because I didn't know any better at the time) and routes were defined based on what was logical.

so given that someone might want to Oxp it in the future, is it better for us not to make routes? I know for experience nothing kills an oxp project like the inability for you to stamp your name on it. If the route is already defined, any potential makers might be put off.

What do you think?

I think it could work both ways.. we've already seen that the picking of routes and selection of regional names is actually inspiring oxps. The fact that the maps are not being totally filled in with details is also good. The areas with no names or routes marked allows people to make their own mark in the Ooniverse if they wish. The feeling I had with the first two maps is that you've been able to strike a good balance in this respect. I find myself eyeing those 'empty' areas and thinking "I wonder what's going on over there... what do the locals call that region?"
