What about Stanislaw Lem? In my personal science fiction pantheon I rank him equal with Arthur C, probably even higher. What I don't know, however, is how far his works have spread in the anglophone world. In German, there are (or have been) a couple of good editions.

I actually do own a couple of Lem books (and I hear he's very good) as I cannot enter a 2nd book shop without buying at least one book my back catalogue of purchased but unread books is approaching 100...

@Pangloss - fabulous work - and that team description should definitely go on the wiki (when its up properly) - don't you agree Cap'n H?

Why did you stay away so long!!!
I was unemployed for a few months (so you'd have thought I had the time to spare) but I just kept playing Tremulous. If it weren't for the use of ads for the Constores, I'd probably still be playing it (I'm now working full time again, which is nice).

So, yeah, best PM ever received.

I just dropped the S-Pulse Sidewinder design into the program (as a Constore security ship, but what the hey!) and grabbed a couple of screenshots. Front view, and the underside showing the logo.

...any chance of having the option to have anti-aliasing in the game graphics (or does it already exist)? It would look freaking sweet on newer computers.

The son of famed brewer R.C.DeZeeuw. R.C.DeZeeuw II, has embraced his love of all things mechanical and, with the blessing of his father, has set up the RCDeZeeuw Ring Racing Team.

Image

Ramond Chris DeZeeuw the Second showed an aptitude for mechanics at an early age. Taking apart a hover-speeder as a teenager, he improved its manifold design. A later patent based on this tinkering made him his first million Credits.

Brushes with the law almost cost Ramond his life when, at the age of 23, he almost killed himself and a GalCop officer when attempting to dock at a Star ConStore at top speed in his custom Morrigan. After a high-rating HoloTV trial and the following six months in the isocubes, he vowed never again to be the wayward figure he once was. His vow has never been broken, and to this day he tours schools around the Tionisla system (where he lives) and gives lectures on pilot safety.

RCDeZeeuw will race under the number 47, and their orange ships will be one of the more visible on the ring circuit.

Image

Ramond is married to Adoré Šeman, the former model and lead singer of the popular crush-polka band Lave Slave. Lave Slave are one of the most successful performing artists on the books with Knot Entertainment LLC ("If it's not on Knot, it's not on!"), who are proud to be a co-sponsor and active member of the RCDeZeeuw team.

---

I'm surprised nobody Dutch took an orange ship with this name! Oh well, I'll do it!

I'm sick today, so just this. And I will work on the neon equivelent spaceman for the ConStores, Griff, I promise.

But for going along with, I'd like to propose a spelling correction to the #13 team.

Alhamdulillah (الحمد لله) is an Arabic phrase meaning "Praise to God" or "All praise belongs to God," similar to the Hebrew phrase Halelu Yah.

So now you know where "hallelujah" comes from. And Team Al-hamduli'llah intent to win the title. A short press release today showed their design for the Mamba, with the following message:
Lan astaslem -- لن استسلم
It means they will not submit. To losing!

Image

This will be the last team I do in a while. I'll give others a chance to contribute! 8)

Fantastic Pangloss and educational too!

Hope you're feeling better soon.

Everybody in my family except me is sick at the moment - but the effect is the same - no time to engage in my passion for Oolite!

The polite way to describe what I have is "an intestinal bug".

The impolite version: my arse was a SuperSoaker this morning, and this is supposed to be my day off. It's MLK Day, fer hell's sake!

Seeing as the Arabic word translates as 'hallelujah", maybe The Happy Mondays could sponsor them. Or maybe I could just turn the moon/star emblem into a smiley!

Ewww. Eat more grass, we cats swear by it. It helps the guts and gives you interesting coloured hairballs.

Get well soon.

Also, we're down to 11 teams left! Best get your design immortalised before it's too late!!!
