Re: Elite : Reclamation (Novel)
Just read it, awesome stuff. Looking forward to the story just on the brief glimpse of the general arc!
Very good interview too - not edited to make you look like anything other than you are - a dedicated, mature fan with his head screwed on properly. Definitely NOT a fanboy.
ClymAngus: glad to hear you're not really a Negative Nora. It did come across that way, though...

Re: Elite : Reclamation (Novel)
I got a complimentary email from the editor, saying words to the effect that it was a pleasure to take my email, read it, copy it word for word and publish it.
The only modification they made was inserting "Copy Protection" before "Lenslock" - which rather broke the flow of my carefully crafted sentence. <sniff> <tch> <tch> <shakes head as if he really knows what he's doing> <sigh>
Cheers,
Drew.

… including the grammar error right in the first sentence, no less:drew wrote:I got a complimentary email from the editor, saying words to the effect that it was a pleasure to take my email, read it, copy it word for word and publish it.
(Or did they include that at their own discretion?)The first game I rememberingseeing
It's good that Elite: Reclamation is going to get a proof reading squad.

Excellent interview!
If you have anything left that you did not get to say in that interview or you just want to talk a bit more, I'd gladly interview you for Hookedgamers.com as well!

Hi Wolfwood. If you fancy asking me a set of questions, fire them over to me at drew at wagar dot org dot uk.
I've got more details on the character and the plot now. Limited spoilers.
Cheers,
Drew.

Re: Elite : Reclamation (Novel)
It is important to adjust my comments in relation to the depth of the sardonic base from which they have to travel. As a result any expression of happiness and or joy suffers considerable "red shift".Selezen wrote:ClymAngus: glad to hear you're not really a Negative Nora. It did come across that way, though...

Clym, do you transmit through the luminiferous aether, or some other arcane medium?

Nice work, Drew! I'll continue to comment on the novel here, I think.
Very nice site though. The product of another fruitful train journey?

The train takes me from London to home, via way of outer space. Can't be bad!

You know it's gone too far when your train pulls into the station and you say "no, no, no it's all wrong - it should be spinning..."

Re: Elite : Reclamation (Novel)
Nice interview - very interesting. I did enjoy the plug for Oolite and your rebuttal of the naysayers.
I have to say I was surprised at some of the negative comments that your kickstarter got at the start from some of the smaller news sites. Just goes to show that no-one likes change.
The fact that the Reclamation drive met its goal in 9 days shows how much support you (and Elite) have. It would be interesting to see how much of that goal was met through pledges just from members of this forum. The sheer power of Oolite?
