I noticed this line in the history - 16:09, 19 June 2010‎ Ahruman (Talk | contribs)‎ m (193 bytes) (Deletion request denied. “Invalid page”? What’s that even supposed to mean?) (undo) - Looks like Ahruman tried to delete but was denied. Might it be a good idea to get rid of it after all. Or at least alter it so it doesn't appear on the ships list?

Ahruman denied the request, it was ADCK who placed it. Seeing how nothing changed in the past two years and the page is rather worthless IMHO, I placed another deletion request to notify people of my intention.

Well, obviously the page is a relic of a stalled attempt by Ace Garp to create ship pages for all ships that didn't have a page. You may want to study this thread for more information.

Personally, I'd call the attempt "stalled", because the results are less than satisfying, as evidenced by the [wiki]Tepiu[/wiki] page (and possibly some more similarly looking pages). However—and I think that was Ahruman's point as well—a less than satisfying result on a ship page is no reason to delete that page. It is reason to improve the page, by adding more information besides the half-empty template. Or is there another, better looking and more filled-up page for the Tepiu somewhere else on the Wiki? If yes, the two pages should be merged (effectively deleting the worse page). Deleting the page without having an alternative page would mean that the Tepiu has no Wiki presence any longer; and who would get to decide which OXP ships get banned from the Wiki in such a fashion? Therefore simple deletion is not an option. Improvement (= adding blurb, the missing stats, screen shots) is an option.

It's a valid point, Commander McLane. The question is, what do we do with pages that are more confusing than helpful? A ship page with no reference to its OXP and only marginal information about the ship does not help anyone. It would be great if some kind soul felt compelled to research the BB and dig up information to make it helpful. Oh wait, that sounds like you, master of BB research

Falcon.oxp:
May have been pushing the 3D engine a little too hard - random crashes. Some changes made...

Kestrel+Merlin.oxp's:
Since adding all the sub-entities they have been a little too hard to kill. Some stats reduced a little to reballance.

Pallas.oxp:
Further tweaking. Hope you like. ( I get the feeling the only person who thinks this ship is is me! )

Swift.oxp:
Further tweaks, now hopefully all the 'case-bugs' for people with PickyOS's (tm) have been squashed.
Now contains FOUR ships - Swift, Firefly, Tepiu, & Lampyris!

Condor.oxp:
Further tweaks + fixes... ( mostly to the rogue turrets that were shooting their own ship )
Now contains FOUR ships - Player-Condor, Condor, PoliceCondor, & SwatCondor!! ( Fear, oh yea wrong-doers! )

Phew!
All bugs squashed?
No - still not getting the comms-complaints I want when sub-entities are shot off.

I have fleshed out the Star Wars Ships a little. I will go through a few as the motivation takes me. I don't intend to change any but only to add to those that are effectively empty.

It doesn't seem right that each of the ship pages contains a copy of the text that describes the OXP... There is nothing ship specific and you will have to update all Star Wars ship pages plus the OXP page if you want to change something. Sorry, but I really don't think copying existing wiki to more pages adds to the wiki's usefulness.
