The above post has about 5 hours of life before deleting, just for the benefit of the doubt.

Looks like spambots have found their way in lately...

I never did understand the point of these pointless bot messages - why do they do it?

Because some people figured out that they COULD do it, then foruming went downhill.

On another forums which I moderate, we encountered a similiar problem. The solution we used was a more robust captcha for registering new accounts. Perhaps that might help? 8)

Fried Spam

Post by Randy »

I had a wife once who liked to fry Spam and we'd have it for dinner. It's probably why the doctor told me that my blood congealed into Crisco. :P

famous planets looks good though.. does it really look like that in the game? the planets look a bit well plasticiny at the moment (dont take offence!!!!) - one was pink!!!!
Famous planets is great, it only gives a bit trouble with my configuration...but that's because of bad drivers and now a very low end graphics card (much like on-board chipsets which use the motherboards RAM).

The pink planet...maybe that was the source of the barbie cobra someone did post a screenshot of ;)

:? been looking for that Barbie Cobra screenshot, but it's not here anymore, and I don't know where the quoted screenshot came from..any clues anyone?

The Barbie Cobra is one of the ones that Griff's randomisation of colours created and is in the Screenshots thread somewhere - possibly posted by A_C...

EDIT:   ninja'd (again)

*wrinkles his nose at the faint whiff of necromancy*

Out of interest, is there much annoyance at thread necro'ing on this forum? It's one of those things that seems to vary greatly amongst the forums I visit.

Not that I've noticed. The whole premise of the game for many of us is nostalgia, after all, and there are those here whose memories are getting dodgy anyway ... :P

Commies adds more scenery to Commie planets, Dictators some as well.
Anarchies adds stuff but makes for a harder game as well.

Transhub and Torus give new lloks to some main stations.
UPS gives some new missions.

Well necro posting on point of view boards is more annoying than necroposting on technical boards. Necro a tech board and if you don't have a good point your the one who looks like a bit of a tit.

Social boards well, they get all psychological. I like to think this marries both tech and social fairly well.
