Why does the thargon look like a dome tent?

There are plenty of oxp's that retexture/remodel the basic models like that, i'd suggest neonlites if you have shaders, or Griffs Normalmapped if you have a beefy computer.

If you can't use shaders then i'd suggest Sung's detailed retextures (not my shader version)
