I love it - but one question - why would nogrip use the sillouette of an outmoded 20-21st C mode of transport found on Old Earth as part of their logo?

TBH, it's the logo of an existing real-life racing sim site (www.nogripracing.com - I'm a moderator there). I thought that one team could be "NoGrip"-team, IMHO racing is racing whether you use bicycles or spaceships (or almost anything) at it. If anyone thinks that using the logo is a bad idea, I'll remove it ASAP and apologise for being a moron.

Providing there are no Copyright issues over the use of the logo - I don't think there will be a problem.Zieman wrote:History freaks?DaddyHoggy wrote:I love it - but one question - why would nogrip use the sillouette of an outmoded 20-21st C mode of transport found on Old Earth as part of their logo?

I don't see a problem with using a 21st century sign... after all, it's more energy efficient on a planetary surface to get around with wheels than with something that fights gravity, pub signs have remained pretty much unchanged for centuries (as have the designs of other things that work, like window panes or cups or tables)... so I can easily imagine MOT road signs being adopted for use on other planets in centuries to come. Traffic is traffic, and a sign works in any century (private land, do not turn your horse and carriage here...)
Nice use of my dancing chicken too. I forgot I made that animated Griff Con Store design some time ago, so it's good to see it elsewhere in the Ooniverse. Can't wait to see the other two ships (and collaboration has always been the driving force in open source gaming).

I believe it's for a yearly subscription. I got the image from the EliteWiki. Always a good idea to Google your team name and search for it on the Wiki to make sure any existing history and use of company names are kept constant.another_commander wrote:@Pangloss: 3 Credits for a copy of What Spaceship? And here's the Krait. The ad for Zorg Spirits is going in the Your Ad Here thread.

When my ship is berthed at a planetside port, I like to get around on a custom built folding recumbent bicycle. It's cheaper than calling a hovercab, and often a lot quicker - why sit at a stop signal when a nip through an empty lot does the trick?DaddyHoggy wrote:I love it - but one question - why would nogrip use the sillouette of an outmoded 20-21st C mode of transport found on Old Earth as part of their logo?
There's something to be said for 'outmoded': It's not always obsolete!
