Can't install any OXP's

I've installed the newer version .... but my saved commander is gone

Is there any way of recovering it !?!!? I Can't believe I've lost everything

Well, the important question seems to be: What have you done with your save-files while installing the new Oolite version?

Oolite save-files have the file extension ".oolite-save", and can be found at a specific place, depending on your OS. If you should accidentally have deleted the folder which contained your old save-files, they would of course be lost.

But if they are still there, they probably only need to be moved to a new place? Or you need to point your Oolite load screen to the correct folder?

This may help:

When I installed a normal copy of 1.73.4 on my PC, everything was okay.

Then, when I separately unpacked another copy of 1.73.4 for testing, the testing version wanted to retrieve savegames from the normal 1.73.4 savegame folder.

The testing version of 1.73.4 didn't want to know about the testing savegame folder.

Perhaps his issue is related to this?

Skii.. I think the first thing we need to establish is what operating system you use, (and, if it's a version of Linux, if you installed as a user or as root, and if you used a .deb package or the Autopackage installer..) then we can work out where you should be looking for your save-files.
