OSE = Oolite Shipyards Extension,
the meta-oxp currently introduced and discussed in the Testing & Bugs forum. Please read the extensive introduction there.
To make the confusion complete, when OSE leaves the beta stage it will be the successor to RS ~ Realistic Shipyards. Read an introduction about that one in my sig.
Hope that helps

I can't remember what it stands for but OSE is Lestradae's follow-up to Realistic Shipyards.
It basically hoovers up every single ship, values them "sensibly" - makes loads of equipment available, gives players the ability to buy stations and a million other very clever things.
I'm waiting for Lestradae to including the never-really-got-anywhere-banking-thread as an alternative to the 0% interest system paid by the standard Galcop bank account (with interest earned, exchange rates etc...)

Actually, I'd say the MonoOpoly in space-ace-ace that becomes possible via player stations in OSE is already a step into that direction - basically, you can let your money work for you.DaddyHoggy wrote:I'm waiting for Lestradae to including the never-really-got-anywhere-banking-thread as an alternative to the 0% interest system paid by the standard Galcop bank account (with interest earned, exchange rates etc...)
You buy a station for a comparably huge amount of money (for the cheapest - Rock Hermits - you have to have earned 2 million Cr by more conventional means), but then you get an income from the station's proceedings each witchjump. After 20 or so jumps you are already making a profit should you ever re-sell your station (you are getting 95% of the buyers price back).
I think a complete banking system would fit into an upgrade of LittleBears Black Monks (you can buy a Black Monk station in OSE too, but only that. For everything else you need the black monks oxp). This already has something according to giving out credits, etc. And it reminds me a bit of the "banking clan" in Star Wars that actually gives rise to the new Sith insurgency ...
Cheers

Wait! You mean that we will soon need a currency exchange rate Cr to €?wackyman465 wrote:Starts to sound a little like EVE...
So you can also buy a player station - by bolstering up my bank account
