It's a shame sub-entities can't have sub-entities, or else you could have some fractal fun with something like that (at least until the game ground to a halt and then crashed when it hit the memory limits).
That's four iterations - I think the face count for that passed the quarter-million mark. It's not big but you'd know when one popped up.
Still, it may be possible to simulate one with actual holes for the bug ones, do not render areas for the small ones, and just matt black dots for the really small.
