Q-Bomb Movie

Post by drew »

Ooo... fun lunchhour today!

Here's my take on the awesome destructive power of the Q-Bomb, courtesy of the Tionisla Graveyard.

Apologies to Selezen!

Death and Destruction has never been so pretty!

(Can I suggested you shorten the run-up to the momentous event though)

Wooo! way cool! I love the last couple of single explosions as well... a nice finale...

Wonderfully dramatic and atmospheric music also... and timed so nicely with the action too... that last drum-roll syncs just beautifully!

What about a custom shipdata.plist with some extra views added to give the angles you want? I don't know enough about how they work to know if that's feasible or not, but it may be worth some experimentation. Who knows, it could eventually result in a special camera-ship!

"...Thus, the results of a Q-bombing can be rather spectacular."

Awesome video! The atmosphere, the tension, the strike... Very, very cool. I haven't seen anything like that before. Well done!

Fantastic video, good music choice also. Fits the scene. Enjoyed it. Almost like watching 2001 A Space Odyssey

What I really want is panning control, so I can send the camera around, past and zooming across the target ship and destination. Sort of what you were able to do in FE2/FFE, if that's not swearing!

A smarter external view with a 'cancel HUD' option would be ideal!

One for the suggestion box?

Cheers,

Drew.

ps. In case anyone was wondering about the music (though I'm sure most of you will know it) It's 'Mars: Bringer of War' by 'Gustav Holtz' from the 'Planet Suite'

"Cancel HUD" is already available. Just pause the game and press "o". That removes the hud and all the overlay text (console and comms messages basically plus other notification messages).

And just to save the next question, pause again and press "n" to bring things back again :P

For more details look up "debug keys" in the wiki ;)

Cool - I'll make a note of that. May hope in future movie productions 8)

I don't think the HUD one is actually listed in the wiki page.

It's o for orange by the way, not zero (pushing zero does an entity dump to the logs iirc).

It does work though, it's how I get most of my screenshots of ships etc (that and selective use of player.ship.target.switchAI("nullAI.plist") on the console.)

I dunno, giving away all my cinematographic secrets today...
