It's a fit up guv!

Post by shadowfirebird »

So there I am on final approach at Isinor station, when I get "Due to an emergency your docking clearance has been revoked"

And, suddenly, I'm a fugitive! "Marauder, you are not welcome in this system", and out come the vipers, sirens and lasers flashing! I F5, and sure enough, I'm a fugitive.

Now, it strikes me that there are a couple of likely explanations for this. It could be someone's idea of plot (indeed, it could easily be mine, too, albeit a bit difficult). I have a few OXP's installed: Anarchies, Buoy repair, cargo wrecks, FTZ, UPS courier).

Ooooor: I could have pressed tab by accident while I was docking. Not impossible.

It would be nice, though, if there was some sort of "WTF log" I could check to find out. Is there such a thing? Do people think it's a good idea?

(I guess what I mean is, log when "plot" happens; and/or log the reason for legality status changes. Maybe some other stuff too.)

Hmmm... That would indeed be valuable, also for bugfixing.

But how to implement that?

Hmm. (My) Javascript sucks, and I've only taken a quick look at the docs, but it seems that you might be able to get 90% there with an OXP. Have a look at http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Oolite ... ject_model.

You could probably make a stab at logging when you were attacked or when you attacked another.

I'm not seeing anything that would implicitly catch a change in legal status, much less the reason for that change. But it would be quite a start.
