The SMTP timeout has nothing to do with actually posting your post; it means someone’s checked “Notify me when a reply is posted”, and those notifications are not going out. (In point of fact, there are currently several people whose messages are bouncing. If you subscribe to topics, please test the e-mail account in your board profile by sending it a message from a different account on a different server.
