Smart AI. What fun?

Post by Captain Tylor »

Back in my C64 (the enemies weren't as smart back then) days I remember the tactic of getting really close to other ships and releasing missile being effective as it hit before could use ECM. Have tried this in Oolite enemy ECM activates really quickly. Is this still a viable tactic?

The Enemy AI has done this to me on a few occasions when i have been lining my sites up close behind.

This is great as it adds to tension and keeps my finger hovering over `e` when lining up now.

Does anyone think the smartee AI`s and harder kills make the game more fun?

Does work on head on approaches, as long as you stay uppermost (oo-er  )

"Ignore my Pride" - good name for a ship! (in the same vein as Cap'n H's "Dubious Profit")

I always use my middle finger on the A key so my forefinger always hovers over the E key

speaking of finger layout...I have my fourth finger on a, middle on throttle (w+s), second serves e,r,t and my thumb fires missiles :)

Oh, and I though about naming my future Reaper "No Offense"
