Problem with 1.7.2 - Unable to select Joystick Configuration

Post by fraggle »

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has seen this before. I have recently updated to 1.71.2 from 1.65, and now I can no longer select Joystick Configuration option from the F2 screen/game options, nor does the joystick work when I leave the staion using F1.

I have tried deleting the .GNUstepDefaults file, but it still doesn't work.

Just to let you know that I am using a Logitech Attack 3 joystick.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I had this problem. Am new to this although had Elite on C64 many years ago.
I signed off oolite with jostick plugged in and went in again. I think you have to have joystick plugged in before starting up

Joy stick config

I use the same stick. Load the game and load yor commander, then options, then stick control anr re set them to what you want. But remember to read what it says and not rush through. Once yo are happy, reboot TDM (This damn Machine). Should work fine then. Though?? Is your stick always plugged in? Coz tdm will see it as a 'New device' each time if not.

Do you still have the V65 Oolite? Coz you can copy and paste the defaults and saves from one to the other. As well as all your oxp's

Thanks for the responses guys.

I actually got fed up of it not working, so ended up reverting back to 1.65.

I can't remember whether I used to keep the joystick plugged in or not.

Anyway, I no longer had the option for the joystick configuration (f2).

I took a copy of my saved game prior to upgrading Oolite. I even tried starting with a new commander, but it still didn't work.

It's about time to give it another go. I'll post the outcome.
