Ionics in 1.71.2 - where is the link ?

I travelled far and wide in 1.65. Great times in many missions.
Before I had finished ionics - i upgraded to 1.71.2 and started back in good old lave with a bucket of bolts.

Many light years later - I am back in G2 back at zaria, trying to start the ionics mission and find the Link and associated shoot em up goodies.

As they say in the movies - help me obi wan kinobe !!!!

I cant be that cryptic !!!

I guess its 'while heading away ' from the planet but in which system. Memory serves that first time around its NOT in the system rumoured to be the home of the 'Link'

I really do need a map

Nevermind, I'm totally wrong, been so long ago since I played it, i was confused with an other mission (deposed?)

Do you have an advanced space compass, the link base should show up as an 'L' if you cycle the targets...
