Joystic controls

Post by Wolfwood »

Just tried to use my Logitech Force 3D Pro joystick with Oolite and noticed the following problem:

When I assign the joystic X axis to Yaw instead of Roll and lauch from a station, the ship keeps on rolling and rolling even after I hyperspace to another system. I can counter roll with the normal keyboard keys, but when I release the key, the ship starts rolling into the original direction again.

Using the PC Oolite version 1.71.2.

Another problem seems to be that it seems to be pretty hard to return the joystick to the centre position when manoeuvring, but that may be just my inexperience with PC joysticks... (this is the first one I've ever used)

If you have installed the logitech software, you will be able to go to game controllers on the control panel and set the size of the deadzone (the non-responsive neutral area) for each axis.
