Model along with Giles!

Post by Ace Garp »

I don't think this has been posted before, but I did search for it!

I found this thread on another forum whilst looking for tutorials on Wings3D: -

http://www.ambrosiasw.com/forums/index. ... pic=110562

It's an eight page tutorial by someone known as Aegidian, all about modelling cars using Wings3D.
This has to be of some use when making new ships.

You'll have to register to see the pics - but don't let that put you off.

Hope someone finds it useful ;-)

He knows, and had said so on the topic subject...
You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.

I was trying to follow this tutorial, and got lost fairly early on. I'm with him up to the point where he says
Now I can make the rough shape. I'll do this by moving edges round to match positions on the image of the mini in the image-plane.

To start I'll enter edge mode and select the edges at the front I want and move them using right-click Move -> Y.
My view doesn't look like his figures anymore... In particular, I don't see the horizontal edges across the front of the body: my new edges are segments of the vertical edges the front face of the body. When I do the Move->Y command with a pair of those edges selected the results are difficult to describe. Also I can't get my figure to look like the one right after he says
Then I'll do the same at the rear. Resetting to a normal view this gives me:
Is it possible he does another loop connect command in there someplace?
