Jumping through wormholes

Post by Eric Walch »

Ahruman,

Nice feature you built into the NPC witchspace jumps. Today I followed a trader that jumped trough a wormhole and found him at the other side.

Later I encountered a UPC generated ship that gave me a package and jumped. In older versions he reappeared at the witchspace-point of the departing system. I did not follow him through the wormhole, but first delivered the package at the main station. When I later normally jumped I encountered him in the new system. Very nice!

Have I always missed this feature or is it really new?

Yesterday I saw a similar nice touch.

A Python was flying in formation with four fighter escorts. The Python created a wormhole and jumped away. Then the fighters, in a neat symmetrical formation, all turned and jumped in the wormhole after him.

Little things like that help make the game feel alive.

If you ever have a half hour spare and are at a high-TL Corporate with lots of OXP ships, undock and just sit at about 10-15km from the station and just watch the traffic. It's fantastic to see the interactions such as squadrons of Rigels, Saiphs and Belatrices launching and oh-so-smoothly forming up for a patrol, Coachwhip or Anaconda Starliner liners and their escorts heading for Witchspace, Woma Fuel Transports stopping engines and delivering their cargo to the station. Magic
