GalCorp Police viper purchase

Post by Lomoco »

I discovered something pretty nice. You can edit your saved game file in a text editor. You can give yourself pretty much anything you desire (except for things that don't exist). Credits, a new ship, upgrades, passenger room, etc. I went in and gave myself loads of cash and bought me the fastest ship I could find. However, I noticed that you cannot purchase a GalCorp police viper or interceptor. Does anyone know how to come in ownership of one?

Only by heavy editing the plist files you can own these vehicles...

but some consider this "cheating" ;-)

If it's big fast and scary you want and you're not afraid to hack, go for a Constrictor.....

If you install the renegade viper OXP, then GalCop surplus Vipers appear to buy in the shipyard from time to time.

First of all, welcome to the boards and of course to this really great game, Lomoco!

Second, I'd like to underline Frame's post. Generally hacking in your save-file is considered cheating. However, as you play just on your own, nobody can penalize you for doing it. :?

Welcome Lomoco

You could try the Illicit unlock OXP which allows you to purchase non player ships.

Why though would you want a Galcop viper when there are so many better ships to choose from, unless you want masquerade as a cop and then hoist up the Skull and Crossbones.

Perhaps he just finds it a cool ship (not many other ships have flashers, y'know).

The Nemesis fighter is both a player ship and comes with flashers! It's available through the Assassins.oxp (I'm not getting a commision from LB, you know).

The three assassins player ships can be bought in any Galaxy, but they are rare (high tech levels). Normally, NPC assassins ships are only seen in G7. Some NPC ships can appear in witchspace (if you complete the relevant mission). If you complete all the missions, then there is a small chance of encountering some of the NPC ships in any Galaxy.

Make sure you have the assassins oxp loaded then, it's a game all on it's own!
