How are you doing with the orb missiles?
I haven't done anything with them for quite a while.
All my Oolite projects have been on hold while I've been tinkering with that 'modded A3000'...
So no progress I'm afraid...
I'll get back to it soon:
Most of the Orb bugs had been squashed & I was in the process of implementing new stuff when I stopped ( Inc the missiles which were comming on rather well )
I'll need to get back to it soon as I'm forgetting how it all fits together & what I was up to!
As some of the 'bugs' were inherent to my 'coding style' ( ie non-existant ) it may be some time before I finish other projects as I'll probably have to do a thorough de-bug of my B.inc ships to make sure they function with new versions of Oolite.
Then of course I'll have to re-do them all again once I get my head round then new shaders...

there are eyes inside the orb base ships.... made the mistake of blowing one up. all of it's captured ships (one of them was a liberator!!!) starting tossing missles and lasers my way... fortunately i did enough damage to slow the orb down, so i could keep up... and then couldn't turn around fast enough to get out of the way of the huge explosion. the game slowed to a crawl (which may have been some of the problem) and it spawned a bunch of boulders, which was followed by the mother of all qmine explosions.
oh and don't shoot white holes... spawned a huge number of orb ships. think of the kills i could have gotten though....

With the death of the imageshack links in this post, here's an edited version with new links.
Galactic Co-operative of Worlds
Police Update on Orb Sightings.
Today we had a further report of Orb sightings from a very shaken trader.
The following information is taken from excerpts of his interview with the local Ramaza authorities.
'I had just jumped into Ramaza space when my ship spotted an 'asteroid' rapidly overtaking me!'
'Bugger me!'
- Try to stay calm sir -
'Not an asteroid, whatever the scanner said.
Never seen anything like it! Tiny sod, passed quite close to me.'
'Next thing I know a bloody great Thargoid carrier turns up, and along with one of their battle-ships and a Terroriser starts blasting away at the witchspace buoy - which went bang pretty quickly.'
'Pretty damn sure something went BANG in my pants too, if you know what I mean!'
- Now, now Sir, we don't tolerate faecal-oriented language here on Ramaza -
'Then, poof! From nowhere this bloody great pulsating thing, thing appears in front of me...'
- We don't tolerate that kind of filthy talk either -
'Um-yes, my scanner went berserk too! Worst asteroid storm I've ever seen, but no asteroids!
Lots of little fireworks.'
'Then BANG! Another great throbbing... Ow!
You hit me!'
- You were warned about your language. -
- Officer Beeble, please note the gentleman just tripped over, sustaining a nasty bruise to the cranial area -
'The Thargoids start shooting, and the whole cloud of them goes straight in! Reminds me of piranha.'
'Here's a photo of them closing in. Funny, they never once took any notice of me. I just let them shoot it out, didn't get involved.'
'This is the last shot before I passed out. One of those throb... ships is chasing the Thargoids.
Just caught the start of the next explosion silhouetted over Ramaza before it caught up with me.'
Some serious offences, we think you will agree.
We fully support the Ramaza police in their zero-tolerance stance with regard to the use of foul and salacious language in front of their officers.

Re: Galactic Co-operative of Worlds Bulletin: The Orb
Dr HZ's dire warnings are now found here.
There are 12 screenshots (numbered between 1 & 20) in the "A Trip for Dr HZ" folder in his Box account. And no indication as to which are for what (unlike the 7 for his Orb-Thargoid battle where it is obvious).
And I can't find anything which seems to fit the second police interview for Dr Raaxe. Possibly they were in the empty "Orb" folder? After all, he did start writing a Black Hole OXP and his Black Hole folder is also empty.
