Thanks for the kind comments, a_c got some beautiful photos of it in the screenshot thread, i'm slowly warming to the design, still feels a bit off around the cockpit and 'nose' bit, an x-wing with its wings closed was what i originally thought to go with, not sure that was right for the ship

Bearing in mind that I know nothing...
If you look at the one a_c posted where the nose is pointing down, the cockpit to nose area looks oddly tube-like, with the cockpit ever so slightly sunken.
It's less noticeable in most of the other shots I think and perhaps it's the lighting that makes it look more rounded than it likely is.
A few possible suggestions (again, who do I think I am etc...)
raise the cockpit from the 'spine' ever so slightly
taper the spine so that it becomes slightly slimmer at the nose, or...
'cut' the spine where the little indents are, about halfway between cockpit and nose
...all the while keeping in mind that I don't really know what I'm talking about
I know folks have said similar before but if this was a new ship in Elite Dangerous or similar then I really don't think it would look at all out of place. Outstanding work.
Just noticed that the blue areas on the sides of the Viper are made of an impossible material. They have blue diffuse color but emit green specular. For a realistic look the diffuse color should be black or dark grey (alternatively it can be any color but then the specular should be grey; in that case we are simulating a material like paint and not metal). Specular with color other than grey implies metallic material and metals normally do not have a diffuse color.
Not that it takes anything away from the beauty of the model, just making an observation.
Ha yeah, that was a bit of a late night last minute change after checking the textures in game, I think i went too far with it though
I've uploaded a v0.2 of the oxp that reduces a lot of that green in the spec colour for those blue panels and dials down the gloss level a bit on them too, i think maybe it was looking a bit to 'wet'
