An entertaining flight into a feudal system. Normally I'd expect the local scum to ambush me in large packs. They would've stood a better chance if they did. But today, they came up with the brilliant strategy of attacking by ones and twos, giving plenty of time to recharge between engagements.

13:35:01.667 [CommsLogMFD]: Raptor VHF: Resolute: Hello there.
A friendly wave, for which this fool turns and begins shooting.
13:35:01.667 [CommsLogMFD]: Raptor VHF: Resolute: Perhaps a bit of a break from the dance is in order...
One of my psych-outs, a fake surrender, spoken in a way to make them ponder. Of course, he stops shooting and slows. That's right, come closer...
13:35:01.667 [CommsLogMFD]: Mussurana: Bounty 2 ₢: Anyone hearing this? Please respond!
...Moron! HA!
13:35:01.667 [CommsLogMFD]: Raptor VHF: Resolute: Salutations.
This screwhead is a little smarter, running when he's hailed. I give chase...
13:35:01.667 [CommsLogMFD]: Raptor VHF: Resolute: Squirm harder, I need the target practice.
13:35:01.667 [CommsLogMFD]: Asp Mark II: Bounty 58 ₢: You're kidding, right?
13:35:01.667 [CommsLogMFD]: Asp Mark II: Bounty 58 ₢: I can't shake the Raptor VHF!
...and exterminate.
13:35:01.667 [CommsLogMFD]: Raptor VHF: Resolute: Bringing the pain...
13:35:01.667 [CommsLogMFD]: Cobra Mark I: Bounty 66 ₢: Will you stay as a mercenary, Ath'aenah Roh'i, or will you rethink your life?
13:35:01.667 [CommsLogMFD]: Raptor VHF: Resolute: Unfortunately for you, I rarely miss.
13:35:01.667 [CommsLogMFD]: Fer-de-Lance: Bounty 95 ₢: Whatever.
13:35:01.667 [CommsLogMFD]: Fer-de-Lance: Bounty 95 ₢: I'm hit! Losing power...
13:35:01.667 [CommsLogMFD]: Raptor VHF: Resolute: You're a cheeky bastard. Not for long though.
13:35:01.667 [CommsLogMFD]: Mamba: Bounty 25 ₢: Y'know what, ma'am? You need to have a pint and a massage.
13:35:01.667 [CommsLogMFD]: Mamba: Bounty 25 ₢: Energy banks critical!
Thanks for the beer, voidbrains.
13:35:01.667 [CommsLogMFD]: Raptor VHF: Resolute: You've got my attention. Pray.
13:35:01.667 [CommsLogMFD]: Sidewinder Scout Ship: Bounty 32 ₢: Prak off, lady.
13:35:01.667 [CommsLogMFD]: Sidewinder Scout Ship: Bounty 32 ₢: Surrender or die!
13:35:01.668 [CommsLogMFD]: Sidewinder Scout Ship: Bounty 32 ₢: Hang on, I think--
Wait, he can think? Imagine my shock.
13:35:01.668 [CommsLogMFD]: Raptor VHF: Resolute: Squirm harder, I need the target practice.
13:35:01.668 [CommsLogMFD]: Fer-de-Lance: Bounty 31 ₢: Come and get it, if you think you're hard enough!
13:35:01.668 [CommsLogMFD]: Fer-de-Lance: Bounty 95 ₢: Energy banks critical!
13:35:01.668 [CommsLogMFD]: Raptor VHF: Resolute: Care to play a game of 'catch the missile'?
13:35:01.668 [CommsLogMFD]: Fer-de-Lance: Bounty 95 ₢: Prak off, lady.
13:35:01.668 [CommsLogMFD]: Fer-de-Lance: Bounty 95 ₢: I'm taking heavy fire from the Raptor VHF. Help!
13:35:01.668 [CommsLogMFD]: Fer-de-Lance: Bounty 95 ₢: She's breaking up! She's breaking--
They say breaking up is hard to do. It looked damn easy when the missile caught him.
13:35:01.668 [CommsLogMFD]: Mamba: Down with the Party!
13:35:01.668 [CommsLogMFD]: Raptor VHF: Resolute: ...Like shooting fish in a barrel.
13:35:01.668 [CommsLogMFD]: Gecko: Bounty 26 ₢: Riiiiight!
13:35:01.668 [CommsLogMFD]: Gecko: Bounty 26 ₢: I'm taking too many hits!
13:35:01.668 [CommsLogMFD]: Gecko: Bounty 26 ₢: Pressing space again!

What a pack of moonbats. Oh well!

Man your pilot really hates people with GalCop infractions. That's just straight up ruthless.

That's just straight up ruthless.
No less ruthless than what those vermin did to innocent traders, thereby earning those infractions.
I was once a trader, enduring the attempts to murder me by those scum for over a hundred years. So my actions towards them is justified.
I'm a monster they created, commander; From my point of view, each pirate dead under my guns, is a trader that doesn't die under theirs. That includes you. You should be grateful, instead of shedding tears for those not deserving of pity.
Are you still adement to question my moral compass? Or are you going to buy me another beer?

It's a strange Ooniverse - when I was running narcotics as a fugitive, I fragged plenty of bounty hunters!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

I wouldn't buy a self-righteous vigilante a beer in the first place. Frankly you're lucky I don't shoot you up and spare your life to maintain technical clean status and leave you drifting in space 8) . I don't shoot anyone that hasn't shot at me or my clients and I play by my own rules. Enjoy your blood money beer.

Suit yourself. I shall, out of honor of the company, settle your tab.

You wouldn't be the first to try, ser'rah, and likely not the last. And yet, here I be.
I don't shoot anyone that hasn't shot at me or my clients and I play by my own rules.

I recon the professional assassins would be much more a thorn in your flight suit than I. I'm unlikely to bother a clean pilot after all.
Enjoy your blood money beer.
Beer with blood in it? What an odd suggestion! May even improve this bilge somewhat.

One for the boffins, perhaps: if you engage a lone Thargoid warship in normal space (as one does), then think better of it and hyperspace out to escape, would the warship follow? I'm guessing the answer's no... but I'd quite like to be wrong.

I seem to remember that in elite (spectrum), the only ships that would follow you through hyperspace (i.e. be unescapable via a hyperspace jump) were the thargoids. A very simple distinction but one that seemed to suit the lore quite well.

As for oolite... ???

So not only would it suit the lore, it has canon too!

My Switeck's Shipping (which is horribly incompatible with Oolite since v1.8 or so due to market changes) used to have Thargoids follow wormholes, but the core game does not.

Police ships don't follow through wormholes...which may be good to know if you're a fugitive!

Pirates and very rarely traders might follow through your "escape" wormhole, so there's still things to worry about.

Assassins will follow you too. As for the police, I've often thought the Viper-Pursuit should have that capability.
