So it seems that we're just awaiting Disembodied's rubber stamp as the final surviving team member (unless somebody else rematerialises from the clutches of the Witchspace Lobster), and we can then put it up!
Consider it rubber-stamped … sorry for the delay, I've been on an eccentric orbit!

A quick release with the new textures by cbr and a few bug fixes.
Direct link: 0.9-alpha

I haven't had the time to properly test everything. I will do that next year.
The changes in the shipdata.plist for the new textures I had to enter manually, so I hope I didn't mess something up.

@cbr, if you want, you can take a quick look here if you see something obvious missing. I noticed that at some places there is still the "shininess" parameter, even though there's also a new "gloss". Is that intended?
Just curious... now that the first stage of HIMSN is finally completed, what were you thinking of adding next?
Comments wanted:
Missing OXPs? What do you think is missing?
Lore: The economics of ship building How many built for Aronar?
Lore: The Space Traders Flight Training Manual: Cowell & MgRath Do you agree with Redspear?

I am not sure yet, probably the easiest thing on the list, which I believe would be thargoid war zones and the capital ship. I first have to read a bit into the old threads to see what the concrete vision for these things was.

Currently, I am working on some Uni stuff, where I have deadlines early February, so that's likely the earliest I will get to that.
Regarding the upload to the expansion manager: I thought that it would be better if I could test each function that should be implemented by now, if it works as intended, but again, I currently don't have a lot of time to do this without stress. So if it's wanted, I can just upload the files to the manager (which doesn't take much time). The worst that could happen is probably that something just doesn't appear, which isn't too bad, I guess.

Sounds good to me!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

All the best with the varsity gubbins! Computer Science? Or the philosophy of the history of philosophy? Or merely Chinese Calligraphy from the Sung period? Here's hoping that you sail through the rigours and vicissitudes of the Inquisition!

Uploading it "as is" should be fine: despite it not getting your expert attentions, it has been play tested by several of us, and it is designed to be inconspicuous! But a couple more weeks will not make any major difference at this stage of the game. Thank you for taking the trouble!

It's computer science (probably not too unexpected ...). Thanks for your motivational words (although I had to look half of them up  ).

Anyway, it's now in the expansion manager 🎉

An advantage of giving an emission_map it's own png, one can use different colours for the light

Emergency lights, reduced and coloured logolights and smaller logos...

Gosh and gee wilickers -- it lives. I'm sure I have all my old texture files and stuff on my external hard drive that I don't connect unless I need something from it. But I expect the OXP as it was had all my latest textures anyway. Maybe. Probably.

Does anyone have the original HIMSN logos in a usable form? I'm looking for some high quality versions of the 8-point star with the ringed planet, starburst and omega symbols in them.

The only one I have available is this one: Image

Not what you really want, I know, but it could be adapted. It was the original base for the logos.
I'll have a rummage for the actual ones, but montana05 (or his oxps) may have what you need.
