Eureka , I have resolved the intro page. My vessel is now recognised at Navy SeCom stations.

The Reserve Leaderboard reads;

STATUS:Active Sorties:18 KILLS:score_number.

I can live with this though.

Thank you for your help.

The Galaxy Info OXP has a search option that shows you the closest system with one as well as listing where the rest are in the current galactic chart.

Whilst I do use Galaxy Info, I also have the low-tech method in use.. ClymAngus' G1chart printed out on 4x3 sheets of A4 taped together and stuck to the wall to the left of my monitors. That's not big enough to show the system names (hence they're handwritten in, each and every one of 'em) but it has the 4 Spaceways routes marked on it, and all the navy bases highlighted as well.

There's nothing worse than inadvertently dropping into a Navy system with a couple of hundred credits bounty on your head, only to find yourself under heavy fire before you've even cleared the witchspace tunnel.. At least this way, I don't get taken unawares..
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Sadly, no. Nemoricus came back briefly in 2015 and indicated he was working on fixing the licensing issues (see this post: https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.php?t=17224), but I don't believe there have been any results as yet. Publicly accessible ones, anyway.

Some time ago, I started to design a new version of Galactic Navy, I called it Galactic Navy Reserve. An expansion package called Galactic Navy Intelligence is in process as well. Sadly RL made me stop for a while now. However, thanks to the license problems it was necessary to rewrite most of the code again. The current versions include:

ranking system based on accomplished missions (sorties)
a separation of enemy kills in classes
depending on class kills medals and additional rewards
more missions, right now still not split up in both OXP's
integration of GalNavy additions/facelifts
a lot new ships and equipment, mostly planed for Navy Intelligence
...

Still there is a lot to do, my major problem was that I got a lot of ideas so I am not sure how many times I rewrote my own scripts. If anybody is interested to see the current version just pm me, a small warning, its playable but not even Alpha yet.

So you need to be patient until RL is not taking all my energy anymore or I will be happy to send you the code and you could include all of your ideas and publish yourself.

 I'll be patient, then. My own oxp takes all my available time.

Re: Galactic Navy Strikes Back: if only!

I've been trying to get this to work on Oolite v.1.77 ... and ... nothing!

Bounce around Isinor with the peepers peeled ... and still nothing!

Scan the heavens with the ASC ... and still nothing!

Any hints/tips?

This .oxp is broken for the AppleMac.

To fix it:

1) Open the oxp (you need to change the name from Galactic_Navy 5.4.3.oxp to Galactic_Navy 5.4.3.txt which will turn the oxp into a folder).
2) Open the Config folder and then open the shipdata.plist with TextEdit.

3) Search for <key>bounty</key>
<integer>
which appears 42 times.

21 of these "integers" are not integers - the bounty for each ship is given as say 5000.0 or 100.0 - and thus need editing

4) Delete the tailing .0 - ie edit 5000.0</integer> into 5000</integer>

5) Then save the file, pack the oxp back up again, remembering to change the name back from Galactic_Navy 5.4.3.txt to Galactic_Navy 5.4.3.oxp

6) Bung it back into your AddOns folder (if you had taken it out), restart your game ... and presto!

This will not fix the markets, but you will see the Navy stations, frigates, etc. You can dock, buy Victory bonds, see the latest war updates ...

Just curious Cholmondely, do you have a navy-caduceus-psi in your shipdata.plist of the GN ?

Edit: Easier, are there any shipdata - backup.plist ?

It is definitely mentioned - I downloaded the old 5.4.3 version.

There are 17 mentions of Caduceus in the shipdata.plist (last modified in 2017 - possibly when it was uploaded to Box?)

There seem to be 4 variants:
- picket-caduceus-psi
- navy-caduceus-psi
- intercept-caduceus-psi
- reserve-caduceus-psi

The oxp also contains a shipdata - backup01.plist (2016) and a shipdata - backup.plist (2011)

I think I got it from here: http://www.dropbox.com/s/70vgmt7vp5x9j3 ... p.zip?dl=0

That is what I was worried about. I sent Dybal 2 versions of the GN, 1 original and 1 modified for the GN XT. It seems he uploaded the modified version by accident. Welcome, you are the first Beta tester for GN XT.

Joke aside, this version includes more missions, a lot of external ships from other OXP's and a starter for GN Intelligence and was never intended to be published like that. I need to find the original and change the update link.
