Auto-ECM is available on techlevel 8+.

Welcome to the Bulletin Boards! Hoping you enjoy the experience (... and Oolite too, by the way!).

Hiran's great work of Extraction yields the following:
Cost 12000
Tech Level 7 (available on 71+)

I know that the cost is divided by 10 by the Game Code: ie 1,200₢
And I presume that the Game Code interprets the Tech Level as Hiran said (he's actually a computer programmer, I'm just another dumb pilot...)

I'll emend the wiki: thanks for pointing out the issue!

Hiran is absolutely correct, you can read it yourself here:

Please note that the number displayed on the system data screen is one higher than the system's tech level, so to make equipment available at a displayed TL:10 and above in game, enter 9 here.

There is an error on the calculation for "available on 71+":
7 and 1 are added as strings -> 71
instead they need to be added as integers -> 8
