Hacking Ranks

I know how to hack everything but not ranks. I need to be competent to accept a GalNavy mission. I had spent several hours to find out how so I'll appreciate any help available. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

<chortles> Muy loco! In your save file, look for <key>ship_kills</key> and adjust the number of kills to 256, then save the doctored file and restart Oolite while holding the shift key down. That might work - then again, it might not. I'm only a dumb pilot!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!
