Tasty Lobster but why is it winking at me?
The Witchspace Lobster will have its revenge!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

It may well have it's revenge, but it'll be cursed to vicious civil war.

It's all part of the royals' new image - they're just ordinary people, you know! <spits> Next week, Kate will open a window!

A few years ago, Kanye visiting Donald Trump in the Oval Office to show him designs of a hydrogen powered plane would have been a suggestion shouted out at an improv night. So maybe we should keep an open mind about how much worse things can get in the next few years.

The National Cyber Security Centre has demonstrated how an interactive doll could be compromised and used to unlock a wifi-connected front door.

Yep - batshit bonkers! And I've a hunch it'll get worse before it gets better - if it ever gets better, that is!

A fossil collector had to be rescued after becoming trapped up to his waist in mud following a landslide.
Isn't that how one becomes a fossil?

Well, yes. To a degree. But on the other hand, since you're actively looking for rapidly-eroding rocks, then slopes and mud are pretty much part of the recipe. I've gone knee-deep in slithering mud too while fossil-hunting. Working commercial quarries (with permission, at the weekend) for specimens, I've also got caught in unexpectedly deep muddy pools in the working floor, and lost my welly-boot to the clinging mud in the bottom of the pool. Can get very messy - or "an opportunity to study dewatering escape processes and structures", if there is a sedimentologist in the group too.
Mud volcanoes are fun too. Sometimes there you can simultaneously get stuck in the mud and broiled to death. Sort of like those days when you're up to your knees in the sewage reprocessing plant fixing the blockage when some Ferdy comes along and turns up the heating with a military laser over your unpaid bar tab.

“So here we are, blind as moles, engaged in ugly, unappealing struggles of identity politics, nationhood and other such fatuous, outmoded notions, while the planet on which we depend for life is gasping for air and a technological tsunami threatens to engulf us and redefine us without our consent. It’s not dangerous ideas, it’s dangerous realities that should concern us.”

“I hadn’t quite understood the full extent of this,” Raab admitted, “but if you look at the UK and look at how we trade in goods, we are particularly reliant on the Dover-Calais crossing.”
Dominic Raab, British Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, speaking last night - 7 November 2018 - and letting us know that he has now grasped that many things come to the UK on ships (e.g. 48% of our food), what with us being an island and all. And a great many of those things arrive on the bit that's closest to our largest trading partners.
