I'm a keyboard player.
And, this may be an age thing, I need to play with the Ctrl-key held down while flying all the time because I can not accurately time the duration of the tapping on the keys i'd need to in order to ever hit anything. I fly using "flight-arrow-key-precision-factor=0.1".
"flight-arrow-key-factor" would affect the maximum angle realized by roll/pitch/yaw. Thats all it would have to do.
"flight-arrow-precision-always" would invert what happens when you aim. if true, Ctrl would always appear pressed unless you hold it.
My right thumb and left pinkie would thank you.
Suggestion "flight-arrow-key-factor" "flight-arrow-precision-always"

In full screen you can shift 'm' to use the mouse to steer. Don't know if this will help but I play that way. I can't even dock with the arrow keys.

Hey SR, nope, that key just takes me into the can of worms that is the missing full-screen preferences config. playing on an external/2nd monitor here. "flight-arrow-key-precision-factor=0.1" would fix your docking troubles for all but the stations that rotate the fastest. You know where that goes. <smile>
