(Eight) bits of computer history

Elite was one of those games I've heard of when I was playing on my CPC.

I somewhat miss the simplicity of the computer-in-a-keyboard. I remember that a few years ago there were attempts to resurrect it but I guess it didn't succeed. I believe things would be a lot simpler (and cheaper) if the basic machine was the same for everyone, just like consoles. These days everything is a USB device so one wouldn't lose too much of the PC's extensibility.

I think they're called "laptops".
