And back on the topic of Christmas appropriations, I'd like to share the contributions that Aussie songwriter Kevin "Bloody" Wilson has made to the genre of Christmas music (most definitely NSFW): "Ho Ho F*cking Ho" and "Hey Santa Claus (You C*nt)".

My concern was, and is, the way people shamelessly appropriate Christmas for their own purposes.
Not just people of course - St Nicholas traditionally wore green until Coco-Cola decided he should be dressed in their corporate colours one year, and the theme stuck.
BTW we never get snow here in the UK at Christmas (well some bits do occasionally) but snow-themed Christmas cards abound. Do Aussie cards do this as well? I'll bet they do even though it's mid-summer there.
Yup your right, Heaps of snow cards
I grew up in Scotland, in 25 years I only once seen it white on the 25th and that was more a hore frost than snow.
I now live in Perth WA. I send post cards of beaches as christmas cards. Yup toasty warm here while your freezing
