So I was at a planet with a Transhab station, and I spotted a Galcop Viper coming in, near the station. Just as I had turned to see him on my foreward screen... BAM! One of the spinning arms of the station nailed him, and he was destroyed!
I gotta say, that was pretty spectacular, unexpected and... well, cool. (I should be ashamed, huh?8)) I don't even see this as some AI bug that needs to be fixed. Occasionally, accidents do happen. Pilot error. It adds realism and random flavor to the game. I myself have sometimes accidentally flown a little too close to one of those spinning Transhab arms, and was almost hit.

If we ever get news items, maybe incidents like that will get reported -
"Just in - in a tragic accident moments ago, Galcop Lieutenant Tarkish d'Emoeur, a popular veteran of the Rindoran War, was killed whilst on routine patrol. He leaves a widow and 2 young sons.
Traffic Control report that the incident will be subject to routine scrutiny, but believe that pilot error was to blame."
Very funny, Scotty, now beam down my clothes...
