Bet if you knew you are stuck with that user name you'd choose something shorter.
Besides the point..
No one has mentioned an absolute must have.
They don't run inside the game, But invaluable.
ClymAngus vector maps.
Sorry I don't have a link to where you can get them.
Just ask, I'm sure someone will.
My normal flight OP:
Choose a saved ship depending on how I feel.
Load galaxy map for said ships galaxy. Adjust view for about twice full fuel jump. Centred on present saved position.
Load game and ship.
This only really works if you keep game in window. Then game pause, bring up map, consider play options. I use max window so you I can tag between game and map.
Yup. Not a clear explination.
The maps give at a glance what the in game info gives with heaps of clicks. That is after you learn the maps legand.
By the way, not having a go about user name, But I'm not gonna type 17 strokes for your name.
How about CPG1, Or more to it, choose sumit you like.
Not that matters. If your here often enough, everyone else will shorten it for you.
My first name on BB was Cpt. Farterlott the 3rd.
23 key strokes, Ye that lasted a whole week.

You are on Windows, right? You should be able to Alt-Tab between game and any other app just fine even if Oolite is full screen. Try it, I am doing it right now while writing this message.Alex wrote:This only really works if you keep game in window. Then game pause, bring up map, consider play options. Edit: Now with screenie proof: Oolite running full screen with Debug Console alt-tabbed over it.

Re: RE: ClassicPCGames101
This is the first forum where I've been able to use the whole name! I usually end up with cpcg101 which is like c3po's dad or something. It's my website name so it's nice for me, I'm used to typing it all the time so it doesn't bother me. If you need to refer to me then you can always use Paul instead.Alex wrote:Bet if you knew you are stuck with that user name you'd choose something shorter.
Anyway, really enjoying this game. I'm going to write a piece on my site about it because, not only is it a classic PC game in its own right but also it has the best possible ancestor. Mainly I'm impressed by the passion and care of the additional material added to it by fans. I remember playing Elite on my Commodore 64 all those years ago and imagining what it could be like, well now it is and in fact it exceeds what I could have imagined back then.
I've just succesfully added povray planets - it took me a lot of faffing around, until I actually bothered to read the installation instructions. Fantastic. Just another 10K to earn for my military shields and then I'm off exploring clubbing.
I'm not too technical so I can't see me adding content to the game itself but I can write a good review.

That's what I thought at first, too. It's insidious how easily an OXP can creep up behind you and burrow into the base of your medOolite oblongata and take hold.ClassicPCGames101 wrote:I'm not too technical so I can't see me adding content to the game itself but I can write a good review.

I'll be adding a long boring blog on the bottom of it over time (in the style but not the aplomb of Peter F Hamilton)

Nice review - thanks.
You might add that Oolite is quite at home on Linux as well as Windows and Mac.
