Changing default screenshot directory?
Can the default screenshot directory for Oolite be specified to another file path besides the saves directory, even one outside the Oolite directory all together? Say, to a system's public picture archive? Where is the file path defined in Oolite's config files?
Reports of my death have been greatly underestimated.

It is hardocded, I'm afraid. However, symlinks could help here, although I've never tried it myself. Have a look at this thread, there is some discussion about where snapshots get saved with symlinks too:

Re: Changing default screenshot directory?
What I'd suggest doing in most operating systems is linking to the directory from e.g. the desktop, if you want to get at screenshots quickly.
E.g., in Windows right-click on the desktop (or wherever else you want to access it) and choose new shortcut, then browse to the directory. For example, on my machine the link is
C:\Oolite\oolite.app\oolite-saves\snapshots
Or simply set up whatever software you're using them with (e.g. a graphics program) to look into that directory.
